Memory Metal Holland Files Patent Infringement Complaint Against Claret Medical Over Vascular Embolism Prevention Device Patents

April 30, 2018 – Memory Metal Holland BV and Don Michael International, LLC filed a complaint for patent infringement against Claret Medical, Inc. on April 26, 2018 in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.  The lawsuit relates to Claret’s allegedly infringing Sentinel Cerebral Protection System, a medical device that filters, captures, and removes embolic debris during vascular procedures.  The patents at issue are U.S. Patent No. 6,485,502, entitled: “Vascular Embolism Prevention Device Employing Filters,” and U.S. Patent No. 7,214,237, entitled: “Vascular Filter With Improved Strength and Flexibility.”  The complaint has been given Civil Action No. 3:18-cv-02487 (N.D. Cal.).
